High Level Event during UNGA Ministerial Week:
Building Quality Lives through Economic, Social and Cultural Rights

The Initiative hosted a high-level side event at the UNGA Ministerial Week in New York on Thursday 26th September, gathering Ministers from the coalition and high level officials from International Human Rights fora, including UN High Commissioner Michelle Bachelet and EU High Representative Federica Mogherini. 

At the event, members of the coalition adopted a political pledge where they committed to improve their human rights record and to support others through the sharing of “good human rights stories” and practices, based on own experiences. In addition, the EUSR for Human Rights H.E. Mr Eamon Gilmore  moderated a high level panel discussion where members of the coalition discussed and featured stories and experiences that offer a reflection on the contribution of human rights in building quality lives through progress on economic, social and cultural rights. New members to the initiative were announced at the event.
